About Me

My name is Candice Butchino and I am a married mama of 2 from Northeast Ohio. I have a passion for taking all kinds of photographs. It started with me buying my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel XS in 2008 after my first child, Carter, was born. At the time, I just wanted a hobby and I hoped to learn how to take better photos of my family. Once I started putting time into taking and editing photos, I realized how much I loved doing it. I am disabled from a car accident in high school and I just kind of assumed being a photographer and being in a wheelchair didn't mix, so at first I threw the idea of taking photos professionally out the window. I decided to be brave and started branching out and asking family and friends if I could practice with them. When my daughter, Brooklyn was born, I was much more experienced with my photography and upgraded some of my gear. That is when I decided that I wanted to go into business and started building my portfolio.  My husband, Steven has been my biggest fan and my beautiful children are always there when I need some willing (ok...maybe not completely willing, but they humor me.) models to practice on. Now, 3 years after purchasing my first DSLR, I am continuing to capture precious memories for myself and others. Photography is more than a hobby to me and it makes me truly happy. To me, its the best job in the world and I am reminded of this every time I pick up my camera. You can also view my personal blog at http://thebutchinofamily.com.
